Practicing yoga is a blessing no matter where, when, or how. However, finding the right studio (environment) to practice and explore yoga at is very important. I have been yoga m i a for awhile finishing my last semester of my undergrad, moving across the country, and trying to get my life somewhat set up. In these transitions I have lost my balance; literally & figuratively.
In the next few months I will be exploring studios around Los Angeles. I am going to try to find the "right" fit for me and hopefully pick my balance back up. I am off to Rome, Athens, the Greek Islands, and Turkey for the next couple of weeks, but I will do a quick run down of the locations I have been to.
There are several things I look for- overall feel of the location inside & out, teaching quality, poses, classroom atmosphere, staff, amenities, price. I love the feeling of calmness and blood running through my veins when I end my practice. I am insanely biased for Bikram Yoga because that is what I have attended classes for.
